Jang Geun Suk arrived in Taiwan yesterday for his third visit to Taipei. Over 300 fans were at the airport, and in particular, about 20 fans dressed up to cosplay a scene from “Mary Stayed out All Night,” wearing bridal headpieces to greet the star. When asked about this act, Jang Geunsuk expressed that he has always wanted to take the chance to thank his fans, and feels that they have big courage for pulling an act such as this.
When asked what he would do if a girl seriously proposed to him, he responded, “I would decline, and then propose to her myself, because I think girls should receive more love from the guys.” He further expressed that he does not want to get married late, as he wants to be friends with his children; ideally, he would like to get married before he turns 30.
At the press conference, Jang Geun Suk jokingly revealed that the challenge he wants to face the most is love, but later on corrected himself and said he is focused on his career. When asked about his impression of Taiwanese girls, he expressed that he thinks they are cute, have unique personalities, and really know how to dress up. As he is currently learning Mandarin and preparing for a Mandarin album, he revealed that his friend suggested that having a girlfriend who speaks the language would make him learn the language faster.
Jang Geun Suk has been gaining attention in Japan recently, and the Japanese media has gone as far as to say he has surpassed Bae Yongjun in popularity. In relation to this, he responded, “I am not really thinking anything special about it. We are working in the same industry, so we co-exist.”
Jang Geun Suk, who will hold two fan parties this week in Taipei, hopes that he will be able to have 4 dates for his fan party next year. He expressed at the press conference that he will have close interactions with his fans, as well as reveal some of the content of his first photobook. His tour in Asia has generated an estimated $2.8 million USD thus far.
